…always get posted on Instagram.
Which means if you’re on Instagram, you got to see snipits of my awesome weekend in Vegas. I had such an amazing time with my best friend, Neepa. I felt like we packed so much into the weekend and still managed to relax.
When we arrived in Vegas on Thursday night it was 3:00am EST. That didn’t stop us. We were in VEGAS! After a few wrong turns at MGM Grand, Neepa and I finally made it to our room. We did a quick outfit change and then beelined it to the lobby bar where we toasted to being reunited. We were joined by my husband and his group of friends and all 7 of us ended the night at the Black Jack table. I left up. I can’t say the same for everyone else.
The next morning, Neepa and I enjoyed our breakfast poolside. It was warm enough to enjoy being in the sun without getting too hot. We had a few poolside drinks and by mid afternoon we were ready to head in. We stopped at the MGM buffet and indulged in a lunch/dinner meal and then headed up to our room to get ready for the One Drop, One Night benefit with Cirque du Soleil and John Legend. The week before our trip I got an email from MGM Grand telling me about the show and we immediately purchased tickets. We spotted Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman along with a few VS Angels. John Legend was amazing! After the show we wandered around the Mirage for a bit and got invited to see the Kardashians. We politely declined and headed back to MGM Grand to check out Tiesto at Hakkasan.
There’s something about being 31 and being in a club. It’s just not quite as exciting at it was at 21. We lasted about an hour before we needed to go. We ended up at our beloved Lobby Bar and had a slice of pizza before we called it a night.
Saturday morning we headed to the pool again and this time it was way more packed than it was on Friday. We had a great time people watching – seriously, Vegas has the best people watching! Around early afternoon we decided to head in and went upstairs to enjoy a bottle of champagne and get dressed for dinner.
After dinner we walked along the strip to the Bellagio and checked out the water show and the casino. Then we headed over to Hard Rock where we found a little bar with a great DJ and danced the night away. It was much more our scene than the crazy, crowded club the night before. We danced until our feet couldn’t take it anymore and then we made our way back to the hotel.
Waking up the next morning was sad. There is nothing sadder than leaving your best friend. We still managed to laugh about the weekend’s events on our way to the airport and we parted with promises to see each other again soon. Our flight left Vegas at 11:30am and we finally made it to Orlando at 9:30pm. We got home and had to deal with being locked out, waiting for a locksmith and getting a new lock installed. My head finally hit the pillow around midnight.
Monday was rough. Not only was there post vacation sadness, but it was Monday! Luckily a group text detailing every inside joke and hilarious moment that happened in Vegas got started and I felt a little bit better by mid afternoon.
Monday night we got to see Fleetwood Mac at the Amway Center. We purchased tickets to their show in December prior to booking our Vegas trip, and some how still mustered up the energy to have a great time. The show was incredible!
And now, it’s Tuesday.
I guess it’s time to get back into the swing of things…
