Three Reminders for today:
1. Speak Kindly: Our words influence our thoughts and the thoughts of others. Share your positive outlook with the people around you and it will not only improve your mood, but it will improve theirs too.
Twice in the last week I have had the opportunity to learn about the ways in which our bodies release toxins, impurities and wastes. Of the long list of routes of elimination, my favorite one was through emotion.
We tend to forget how valuable and healthy an emotional release is. Crying, laughing, or even sighing can benefit your body in so many ways.
Simple: Keep a “Memory-A-Day” book. I started one myself this year and it gives me a few moments each night to reflect on my day and to write something down. Each day I write something that stood out, good or bad.
Medicine: Stop bottling up angry feelings before bed. A recent study in the Journal of Neuroscience found that going to sleep after experiencing a negative emotion helps to preserve that emotion. Rather than hitting the sack upset, make peace with whatever is bothering you, write it down or talk it out. Either way, release it. Perhaps you’ll preserve those happy feelings instead.
