Sometimes I feel like hitting the gym. And sometimes I don’t.
I never, ever regret going but there are those moments when it doesn’t sound like the exact thing that I want to be doing. When I tailor my workout to my mood, I often feel like I’ve accomplished a whole lot more than just a sweat session.
5 Ways to Workout for your Mood:
Yoga is my go to for those days when I’m feeling less than zen. There is research that suggests the breathing exercises paired with the movement that comes with yoga can lower heart rate, decrease blood pressure, lower cortisol levels, and increase blood flow to the intestines and vital organs.
When you’re excited you just want every one else to be too. CrossFit is the perfect place to find what you’re looking for. It’s high energy, fast paced, and everyone around you is working as hard as you hard. Plus there’s the added bonus of camaraderie that I’ve experienced in every CF class I’ve ever taken.
When I visited the Bar Method with my Class Pass, I was pleasantly surprised by the intensity and difficulty of the class. If you wake up feeling determined to take on the world, take on a Barre class. You’ll feel like you’ve accomplished a lot before you even get your day started.
