Kitchen Medicine is a real thing. Your spice cabinet is where it’s at.
It’s basically FULL of dried herbs and spices that you can eat every single day to keep yourself healthy. I always say the best defense is a good offense and the way to truly achieve optimal health is through health care, not sick care.
Most of us start to do something about our health once we’re already sick – this is a natural response. If you keep up a routine of eating fresh vegetables, herbs and spices daily you can maintain a fairly healthy immune system which is really the key to optimal health. Herbs and spices have been used for thousands of years to maintain health and wellness. It’s exciting to see so much emerging research on the benefits of compounds found in plant matter – it makes the herb geek in me so excited.
I like to cook with fresh and dried herbs and lots of spices [I get it from my mommy]. I grew up eating heavily spiced and fragrant foods, so I naturally reach for a variety of spices while cooking.
