One of the best parts about celebrating an anniversary, other than sharing your love for one another, is the cake. You get cake. Really good cake.
Which to me, means Publix cake.
If you’re from the Southeast, then you’ve probably had Publix cake. And you’ll probably agree that it’s some of the BEST stuff out there. Since it is my favorite, and we can’t exactly recreate our wedding cake, it’s the cake of choice for celebrations.
Our wedding cake was simply one of a kind. A friend of my husband’s baked it for us and when he asked what I wanted the cake to be, I naturally said funfetti. Who doesn’t want a funfetti cake. let alone a funfetti wedding cake? Compared to any variety of Publix cake, it’s the next best thing.
While I could never eat cake, funfetti or otherwise, everyday, I can definitely drink a cake like smoothie on a daily basis. Most breakfast items are just as sweet as cake: french toast, waffles, pancakes. Keeping that in mind, this smoothie is a pretty healthy compromise. I used my new favorite cookie to give this smoothie a serious cake like taste.
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 scoop Vega Vanilla Protein
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup vanilla almond milk
- 2-3 Ginnybakes butter crisp cookies
- Combine all of the ingredients, except the sprinkles and Ginnybakes cookies in your blender.
- Blend on high.
- Add the cookies and blend until the cookies are crumbled.
- Stir in sprinkles.
Your turn: how do you celebrate your anniversary? What is your favorite flavor of cake?
