Are you feeling beautiful today? The obvious answer is yes because:
- You drank a Prana Smoothie this morning.
- It’s Tues-yay!
- When I add –yay to the end of words it makes you feel pretty.
If you’re not feeling 100% as beautiful as you’d like to feel at this very moment, pull up a chair and slap on your favorite face mask. I’m giving you a round up of my favorite DIY guilt free glam recipes.
Conventional beauty products are chock full of chemicals and bad for you ingredients. In America, we’re so lax on our manufacturing processes that a lot of the products sold here contain ingredients that are banned by the European Union. Why are they banned? Because the ingredients used in our beauty supply are known carcinogens, toxic heavy metals or because they are in products tested on animals. Learn as much as you can here.
As a result of all of this scary, scary stuff, I do my best to skip the toxic lotions, face washes and make-up (except mascara because that’s my vice). Let me help you clean up your skin care routine with a few of the basics:
Scared to ditch the Clean & Clear?
Don’t be! Facial cleansing is a lot simpler than society lets on. Use a gentle soap like Dr. Bronner’s, customize it with your favorite skin loving essential oils and you’ll be loving how fresh and clean your face feels. It’s that simple. Recipe here.
Certain you need your Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub?
I think not. Exfoliating is a must, I agree, but it’s much safer to go into your kitchen vs. your local CVS for supplies. Exfoliating regularly removes old, dead skin. It gives your face and body a fresh glow, and it usually feels really good. My go to scrub is living in your kitchen right now. Recipes here, here and here.
Lathering up with Jergens Lotion?
I absolutely love a good moisturizer. I’ve tried nearly every one on the market. My absolute favorite is this one, but when I’m feeling adventurous I like to moisturize with plain old Jojoba oil. Jojoba oil is the only moisturizer I use on my face and I love it! It also doubles as an eye make up remover. Recipe here.
