When I hear the word “conservative” paired with the word “apparel” I automatically think of a suit. Long sleeves, long skirt, panty hose and “sensible” shoes.
Conservative gym apparel doesn’t have to be so boring.
I’ve always been more comfortable in workout apparel that was longer and/or looser than most (I just can’t run in those cute little running shorts). I like my tops to cover my shoulders and my chest because I’m not into showing that much skin at the gym. I often feel discouraged when I go to places like Lululemon where most of the tops seem to be very stylish but too revealing for me.
I was getting moderately disappointed in my hunt for the perfect gym tee until I rediscovered an 80’s classic: the muscle tee. Muscle tee’s are everywhere these days and they’re perfect for so many reasons.
First, no cleavage. They cover you up because they’re basically t-shirts without sleeves. Removal of the sleeves actually makes them pretty cute without sacrificing comfort. Second, you can find them in women’s sizes so you don’t have worry about awkward side boob because your tee is too big. And last, they also come in athletic fabrics, making them even more perfect for working out.
